Programme

In this programme, we approach business functions (e.g. Strategy, Finance, HR) and the external context from non-traditional international perspectives: uncertainty, change, agility and responsiveness of organisations. The mind-set of leadership is “leading change”. Additionally, you will extend and build up your network of like-minded professionals. This group of peers is a crucial element of the Executive MBA at GISMA.

GISMA Business School supports flexible and individual learning by applying a systematic blended learning scheme. The blended learning is composed of e-learning phases as well as intensive block phases (residencies). The residencies predominately take place in Hannover and require your physical attendance. During the e-learning phases, you can access materials, work with your study team and talk to your professors remotely from anywhere in the world through our e-learning platform. The Executive MBA is a blended part-time programme. Students will work together in peer groups of 4-6 people for the duration of the programme and will come together for two residencies per semester, each lasting one week.

Organisation

GISMA Business School, the German International Graduate School of Management and Administration, was founded on the initiative of former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder in 1999. Its purpose is to offer globally recognised management education and give students the opportunity to study in an international setting. The idea for GISMA came from the need to retain management talent in Germany and attract skilled internationals to study and subsequently work in the country. GISMA was created with the help of the State of Lower Saxony and several organisations around the region including Continental, Georgsmarienhütte, Nord/LB, Siemens, TUI, and Volkswagen.

Until August 2013, the school operated and financed as a public/private partnership, partially by the State of Lower Saxony and by sponsoring companies. GISMA’s founding basis - the combination of its strong location and the international focus of its programmes - has remained the guiding principle and rationale for the school’s existence.

Studying in Hannover

As a well-established economic region, Hannover supports a range of industries, including automotive and tourism. Home to the World EXPO in 2000, Hannover has since come to enjoy an international reputation as a trade fair and conference venue, earning the nickname ‘EXPO City’. Germany is the most popular option for international students looking to study in Europe, recognised for its high-quality education of which you can experience this with GISMA.

With the campus located in the city centre, there is easy access to the Kreuzkirche, the Historical Museum, New Town Hall, the Hannover 96 stadium, Maschsee Lake and much more.
