You are aiming at an executive position or preparing for a company succession and would like to complete a course of studies in business management parallel to your job? The program International Business Management MBA will, on the basis of your first university degree, impart all the skills that are necessary for executive positions and higher management functions in an international context: essential economic know-how as well as international management competencies and soft skills.

The program International Business Management MBA is entirely taught in English. It is a modular, four-semester international course of study and allows certain flexibilities so that it is compatible with a current job. By offering compulsory elective courses in the fourth semester, the program can be designed by each student according to their individual interests.

The first three semesters are used for self-study with the aid of up-to-date tutorial notes. The courses can be attended via webinar so a visa for Germany is not required.The fourth semester is used for the completion of the Master’s thesis.

The distance learning MBA in International Business Management is offered by the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society in cooperation with the zfh – Zentrum für Fernstudien im Hochschulverbund. Graduate School Rhein-Neckar is providing supervision and organizational support.

The contents of the program are designed in such a way as to not only impart theoretical knowledge but also practical competencies in order to make the students able to solve problems of the professional practice.

Admission/Entrance requirements

Ideally, you have got a first university degree in the area of business studies or an accredited bachelor degree of a university of cooperative education (Berufsakademie) (with a good average grade – at least 2.5 when translated to the German grading system) and additionally work experience of at least one year in the commercial field. If your average grade is less than required, admission can be possible after a motivational interview.

All applicants must hand in proof of English language proficiency on at least level B2 or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The corresponding document must be no older than 5 years.

For applicants without a first university degree there is - under certain conditions - the possibility to get admission after passing a qualifying examination. They must be in possession of a university entrance qualification according to the legal provisions in Rheinland-Pfalz and proof relevant professional work experience of at least 3 years. This work must comprise sufficient content-related connections to the course of studies chosen, above-average qualifications of the applicant and international experience that is relevant for the program.

Tuition Fees: 2.250 € /semester
plus social contribution to Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, University of Applied Sciences to the amount of approx. 140 € /semester

Zentrum für Fernstudien im Hochschulverbund - zfh: the new name of the ZFH since 12 September 2018, which was established in 1995 as Zentralstelle für Fernstudien an Fachhochschulen (ZFH) and has its registered office in Koblenz, is a scientific institution of the German states of Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland and Hessen. zfh promotes and supports the development and implementation of distance learning studies in these German federal states and in that respect co-operates with 19 universities. Over the past few years, in addition to the further-education distance learning courses, undergraduate distance learning courses leading to a Bachelor qualification have also been set up, which above all enable persons with many years' professional experience and university entrance qualifications to obtain an initial university qualification while working in their profession.
